Welcome to the end of the week and another installment of your daily fantasy baseball hookup.
I hope everyone used our advised plays of Mike Trout, Adam Dunn, Ian Desmond, Everth Cabrera, Ryan Zimmerman, and Felix Hernandez last night. As far as Jose Altuve and Robinson Cano…oh well. We still Meatloaf’d the daily fantasy baseball featured picks, which ain’t bad. Father’s Day or no Father’s Day, daily fantasy baseball rests for no one so let’s break it down.

Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks For Today
Salvador Perez - After homering last night, Salvador has at least one hit in his last 11 games. He’s 16-44 during the streak.
Matt Wieters - Matt prefers to hit vs lefties. He’s 13-34 against Jon Lester in his career, who has a 6.75 earned run average in his last four games.
Prince Fielder - Prince has multiple hits in three consecutive games and is 5-11 with two home runs vs P.J. Walters.
Paul Goldschmidt - Paul has a career .977 on-base plus slugging percentage vs lefties and is 5-11 with two doubles against Clayton Richard.
Jose Altuve - Despite an 0′fer yesterday, I’m doubling down on Jose and his career .328 batting average against lefties today.
Howie Kendrick - Howie is 9-13 in his last four games and is 9-19 in his career vs C.C. Sabathia.
David Freese - David has at least one hit in 22 of his last 23 games, and is 5-6 off Ricky Nolasco in his career.
Adrian Beltre - 6-13 in his last four games, but more importantly he faces Chien-Ming Wang who gave up ten hits and five runs in his first start of the year.
J.J. Hardy - J.J. has an .875 on-base plus slugging percentage vs lefties. He’s 6-15 with a home run against the recently scuffling Jon Lester.
Ian Desmond - Ian has at least one hit in 16 of his last 17 games. Clayton Richard who has yielded ten earned runs in his last two starts.
Matt Holiday - Matt has at least one hit in 12 of his last 13 games. He’s 11-24 vs Ricky Nolasco in his career.
Carlos Beltran - Carlos is 14-41 against Ricky Nolasco and he’s currently on a 14 game hit streak.
Giancarlo Stanton - Stanton is 8-20 with two home runs since returning from injury.
Hisashi Iwakuma - Iwakuma has not given up a run in three consecutive starts, totally 22.2 innings pitched and 18 strikeouts.
Bartolo Colon - In his last four starts, this rotund 40-year old has tallied 29 innings while only giving up one earned run.
I trust Iwakuma as the safest top pitcher of the day. Stephen Strasburg and Johnny Cueto both return from injury so they come with some risk. That said, they each have the potential to be the days top pitcher, and therefore make for intriguing large field tournament options. I can’t believe Bartolo Colon has earned my trust to some degree…I also can’t believe I’ve resisted making a PED joke up to this point. Other starting pitchers in play today – C.C. Sabathia, Jared Weaver, Doug Fister, and Julio Teheran. Gerrit Cole makes for a sneaky value play. All Texas Ranger bats are worth considering today. If they can’t hit Chien-Ming Wang, I don’t know what will break their offensive funk. More Hitters – Alex Gordon, David Ortiz (How can you not like Big Papi on Father’s Day?), Joey Votto, Jay Bruce, Matt Carpenter, Robinson Cano. Value plays – J.P Arencibia, Mike Carp, Luke Scott, Ben Revere, Michael Young, Cody Ross, Yunel Escobar and Dayan Viciedo. Oh, and I’m obligated to recommend a Padre on Father’s Day, so let’s go with Chase Headley.
