Did your chances of winning big Sale away on you?
If you are like me, you rostered Chris Sale with full confidence yesterday. Here is Chris’s pitching line – 5 IP 8 H 2 BB 4 ER and 5 K. Needless to say, things didn’t go as planned. Daily fantasy baseball has a way of throwing its share of curve balls and this would qualify as one. Inversely, mediocre Joe Saunders threw a complete game against the Angels…and lost! Nobody said this game was easy. Good or bad, the best part about daily fantasy baseball is that every day is a new day and a new challenge. That said, let’s get to today’s games.
Take note – we will only be discussing the night games that start at 7:05 PM.
There are no weather issues as of this writing.

Today’s Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks
Victor Martinez – Victor gets to face John Lackey who he is 10-21 against in his career.
Buster Posey – I like Buster’s chances vs Tom Koehler, who has given up 17 earned runs in his last three starts.
Prince Fielder – Prince is simply the best first baseman playing in tonight’s eight games on tap.
Brandon Belt – Brandon is economically priced and 8-17 in his last four games. He faces the struggling Tom Koehler.
Dustin Pedroia – Dustin is hitting .368 vs lefties this year with a 1.031 on-base plus slugging percentage.
Ben Zobrist – Through his career Ben has preferred to face lefties. This is especially true vs Andy Pettite who he is 9-22 with two homers.
Chris Johnson – He’s both a salary saver and a lefty killer this year. Chris is hitting 23-62 with a .976 on-base plus slugging percentage vs southpaws.
Ryan Zimmerman – Thanks to his career 10-27 record vs Roy Oswalt, Ryan should be happy to see him back in the majors today.
Jhonny Peralta – Jhonny’s 7-20 with five doubles in his last six games. Additionally he’s 11-28 vs John Lackey in his career.
Jose Iglesias – Jose is super cheap and has crushed lefties to the tune of 16 of 32 in his limited at-bats.
Austin Jackson – Austin Jackson is hitting 10-29 since returning from the DL.
Giancarlo Stanton – Stanton has mashed when visiting San Francisco in his short career : 16-40 with 4 HR.
Gregor Blanco – Gregor is super cheap and I expect him to bat lead-off vs the struggling Tom Koehler.
Felix Hernandez – Felix shut down the Angels earlier this year and is coming off back-to-back gems where he tallied a combined 14 innings pitched, a single earned run, and 15 Ks.
Lance Lynn – After a rough couple outings, I expect Lance to tame the Cubs today. Lynn is 4-1 with a career 2.54 earned run average vs Chicago.
Both Jordan Zimmerman and Mike Minor have the potential to be the top pitcher tonight if things break right. Tommy Hanson is in play for the right price. Chad Gaudin and Jason Marquis are both worth considering on multiple pitcher sites if the price break is big enough. Hitters – The Detroit-Boston game has the most offensive potential on paper. The Cardinals and Braves both have the offensive potential to beat up the scoreboard a bit. Some hitters to consider – Miguel Cabrera, Jacoby Ellsbury, Mike Trout, Carlos Beltran, Matt Holiday, Freddie Freeman, Jason Heyward, Justin Upton, Brett Gardner. Value Hitters – Andrelton Simmons, Stephen Drew, Reed Johnson, B.J. Upton, Andres Torres, Jonny Gomes, Jason Nix.
Thanks for reading everyone and good luck in your games tonight. Feel free to chime in with questions, comments, rants, requests, and general snark.
