Today’s Daily Fantasy Baseball Top Pitcher
Gio Gonzalez – Gio is coming off pitching seven shutout innings and has now gone six straight starts of giving up two ERs or less. Additionally, he has recorded at least seven strikeouts in five of his last six games. I like his chances to make in 6 of 7 tonight as the Padres offense is far short of daunting.
Today’s Daily Fantasy Baseball Top Hitters
Jason Kipnis – Jason is batting 24-52, including four homers, in his last 15 games. Needless to say, he’s one of the hottest hitters in baseball. Tonight he gets to face Rick Porcello who has surrendered 16 ER in his last three appearances. Sometimes its this easy.
Cody Ross - Cody gets to face a lefty tonight, and to say that would be his preference is an understatement. He’s hitting .384 vs LHP this year and is a much bigger power threat against southpaws. Additionally, Ross has a nice history vs Jorge De La Rosa (10-30 w/2HRs) and he also went yard in two of his last four games. Even better, he’s a borderline minimum salary player on Fanduel.
Andre Ethier – Some guys just tend to inexplicably have others number. This can be said of Andre Ethier when it comes to Matt Cain. Despite Cain being a plus pitcher, Andre has 28 hits in 63 attempts against Matt. Some people tend to overvalue BvP (Batter vs Pitcher) stats while others seem to more or less disregard it. I happen to be somewhere in middle, and in case, with this nice chunk of sample size, I feel its worth noting. Furthermore, Andre’s salary is deflated all across the industry and makes for a nice value pick.
Adrian Beltre – Adrian broke out of his power outage in a big way last night. By going deep twice, Beltre made up for lost time as he hadn’t homered since June 6th prior to the yesteday. I feel this will carry over to tonight, and start a nice run for Beltre. He faces the underwhelming Lucas Harrell, so the opportunity is certainly there for another nice game.
