Last night was rather low-scoring and the Yankees/Indians game got rained out again, which was unfortunate, as many of us had Robinson Cano in our lineups with the juicy matchup. We hit on our picks, and they were under-the-radar guys too, so if you used them it likely meant you handled your opponent easily. BlueJay12 called A-Gon’s first HR, so tip your cap to him. Josh Donaldson was also a great pick as he went absolutely bonkers.
Once again, there are some weather concerns, and I would avoid all players in the Red Sox/Rays game, as well as the Twins/Mets game (it might even snow there). Some matchups I like for hitters are the Nationals, Dodgers, and Rockies. Gain access to exclusive freerolls by joining the DFRCircuit at FanThrowdown tonight!
Today’s Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks
Fantasy Baseball Pitcher
Clayton Kershaw: Kershaw is off to a brilliant start and gets to face a familiar foe tonight in the Arizona Diamondbacks. This is a team he has dominated throughout his career, amassing 98 strikeouts in just 84 innings pitched against them. His mound opponent, Patrick Corbin, finished last year with an era over 4.5, so there’s a good chance Kershaw gets some run support as well. With Greinke going down due to an injury, Kershaw will have even more motivation to carry his team. Expect the Dodgers to take out their frustrations on the Diamondbacks in this one, with Kershaw piling up strikeouts in the process.
Fantasy Baseball Infielder
Miguel Cabrera: Coming off an MVP and triple crown award, Miggy is simply the best hitter in the game. He’s picked up right where he’d left off, hitting a blistering .378/.452/.568 to start the season. He’s one of the best fastball hitters in the game, and he’s facing Bartolo Colon, a pitcher who has thrown his fastball about 90% of the time over the last two years. Colon wasn’t especially sharp in spring training, and in his only start this season he gave up three runs to the Astros. With the Tigers offense clicking lately, Miggy should get plenty of at-bats as I expect Colon won’t last long in this one.
Fantasy Baseball Catcher
Wilin Rosario: Rosario is one of my favorite catchers to play in dailies when I have the cap space to spend money on that position. He’s got tremendous power, hits in a potent lineup, and even can steal a base now and again. While last year I would avoid hitters at Petco Park at all costs, this year is different as they have moved the fences in. It helps that Tyson Ross is pitching for the Padres as he’s arguably the worst starter taking the mound this evening. The Rockies saw him just six short days ago to boot, and it didn’t go well for him. The Rockies should get to him and turn the lineup over a few times, which means good things for Rosario.
Fantasy Baseball Outfielder
Bryce Harper: Harper has been on fire since spring training started, and he hasn’t stopped. Tonight he gets to tee off on Brave’s prospect Julio Teheran. Julio did not have a great start to the season, giving up two home runs in his first start, both to left-handed hitters. If the Nats keep hitting like they have, this one could get ugly for the young prospect, who might not be ready to handle major league hitters quite yet. After all, the kid finished with an era over 5 in Triple-A last year! I think Bryce swipes his first bag tonight…..reverse psychology, it worked last time!
