What’s up NBA fans? Welcome to the Daily Fantasy Basketball BOMB featuring the hottest night in basketball!
Each week we break down the matchups for Wednesday, one of the biggest nights in the NBA. With 12 games on the card for tonight, the Daily Fantasy Basketball BOMB has everything you need to draft the perfect lineup.
MUST PLAY Daily Fantasy Basketball tournaments this evening:
Get out your machetes and your hockey masks dudes – It’s ACTUALLY the 13th this time! Deja Vu my friends, deja vu. It must be an alternate reality because the Orlando Magic actually won a game. That’s 1 out of 13. Lets see if WE can win some games tonight….
Atlanta Hawks @ Orlando Magic:
The Magic are 1-12 in their last 13 games and desperately trying to dodge the bottom of the barrel, much like Mario in his fight against Donkey Kong.
Josh Smith trade and contract rumors are flying all over the Hawks, and nobody knows how the ego-driven cry baby will play on any given night. In his last couple of games he’s been on fire, playing like an angry beast-child, ticked off that someone peed in his applesauce.
The Vegas Over/Under Line: 197
Daily Fantasy Basketball Pick #1: Josh Smith – D-League rejects filling in for the injured Magic A-team aren’t likely to pee in Big Baby Smoove’s applesauce.
Daily Fantasy Basketball Pick #2: Anyone else on either team is a reasonable choice. You could take Jeff Teague, Jameer Nelson, Nikola Vucevic or Al Horford and not be unhappy.
San Antonio Spurs @ Cleveland Cavaliers:
Caveat Emptor, it’s likely that most of the Spurs skip this game. I wouldn’t be surprised to see cardboard cutouts from Slurpee machines facing off against the Cavs. Likewise, I wouldn’t be surprised if the San Antonio Cutouts won the game.
The Vegas Over/Under Line: Currently Unavailable
Daily Fantasy Basketball Pick #1: Kyrie Irving – Caution: Hard Labor Ahead for Kyrie as he struggles to climb a mountain with the entire Cavs team on his back, save for the occasional helping hand from Tristan Thompson.
Daily Fantasy Basketball Pick #2: Tristan Thompson – Make sure you check the injury reports. If Timmy Duncan is somehow miraculously playing, that’s a good sign for AIDS and world peace. If he’s not, Tristan Thompson has been one of the only consistencies for the woe-is-us Cavs. Unless you include losing, that is.
UPDATE: Early reports suggest that Parker, Duncan, and Ginobili will play. Stay tuned and adjust accordingly.
Charlotte Bobcats @ Indiana Pacers:
The Pacers are 2-1 against the Cats this season, and soon to be 3-1. If you’re a big fan of drying paint or watching ice melt, grab yourself some popcorn and watch this game.
The Vegas Over/Under Line: Currently Unavailable
Daily Fantasy Basketball Pick #2: B. J. Mullens – Since his return from the injury list, Mullens has been playing big minutes and putting up bigger lines. If Hibbert isn’t on his game, look for this giant man-child to produce.
Chicago Bulls @ Boston Celtics:
Games between these NBA franchise monsters are always a bloodbath. They gift us with playoff basketball in the regular season, and compete with a brutal sense of urgency. This might not be a high scoring game, but it will be a fiercely contested one.
The Vegas Over/Under Line: 183
Daily Fantasy Basketball Pick #1: Nate Robinson – Nate may as well brand himself “The Human Torch” because he’s burned nearly every opponent the Bulls have played against while Hinrich’s been sidelined. The rotating casts of musical guards the Celtics employ are unlikely to cool him off without holding him down and drowning him in ice water.
Daily Fantasy Basketball Pick #2: Jeff Green – The Bulls have been horrible against PF’s as Boozer isn’t 100% and Noah is playing through his foot injury. Jeff has been eating a buffet of minutes and is very likely to hit value while the Bulls try to contain Garnett and Pierce.
Denver Nuggets @ Brooklyn Nets:
The Nuggets are 9-1 in their last 10 games while The Nets are 4-6. This should be a competitive game, and will be their first matchup of the year. I wish I had something clever or funny to say but this matchup doesn’t exactly inspire me. There’s nothing ferocious, intimidating or interesting about a Net or a Nugget. This is freaking basketball not mining in Tombstone, what the hell.
The Vegas Over/Under Line: 199.5
Daily Fantasy Basketball Pick #1: Brook “Pigpen” Lopez – Kosta Koufos? I doubt it, and I’d look for Pigpen to be an offensive force in this game.
Daily Fantasy Basketball Pick #2: Ty Lawson/Danilo Gallinari – Ty should be able to produce with or without Deron Williams in the mix, and Danilo has a good matchup to go with his consistent fantasy point production. Make sure you check Danilo’s status leading up to the game tonight as he sat out last night with the sniffles (sinus infection).
Toronto Raptors @ New York Knicks:
This should be a great game of basketball. The Gay-fresh Raptors have been competitive in every game they’ve played. Rudy is the Raptors’ Carmelo Anthony. Unfortunately, the Knicks have one of those too.
The Vegas Over/Under Line: 197.5
Daily Fantasy Basketball Pick #1: Carmelo Anthony – There’s nothing mellow about Anthony’s earth quaking NBA skills. Expect him to fossilize the Raptors.
Daily Fantasy Basketball Pick #2: Kyle Lowry – He’s a tad risky but he is an elite-caliber player with a great matchup. If he shows up to play, watch out. BOOM, goes the dynamite.
Washington Wizards @ Detroit Pistons:
Both teams started this season playing as well as a wasted drunk in a poker game. That’s starting to change though, as the Pistons newly acquired Calderon is settling in, and most of the Wizards have been playing great basketball.
The Vegas Over/Under Line: 188
Daily Fantasy Basketball Pick #1: John Wall – Despite how well Jose Calderon is playing, it’s unlikely that he can keep up with the rocket shoes of John Wall. GO SPEED RACER, GO!
Daily Fantasy Basketball Pick #2: Greg Monroe – Monroe is a rollercoaster ride when it comes to fantasy point production. Fasten your safety belt, and hop on while he’s on the up swing.
Philadelphia 76ers @ Milwaukee Bucks:
Will Sanders be back? Will Ersanity continue? Can Swaggy P put up another sick line? Or will he flake under the resurgence of a coach-warned Monta Ellis? I expect this game to be fast paced with numerous daily fantasy options.
The Vegas Over/Under Line: 195.5
Daily Fantasy Basketball Pick #1: Monta Ellis – Word on the street was that Ellis needed to pick up the pace and play better. He responded with a huge line, resulting in close to 60 FP’s the other night. If he stays hot Nick “Swaggy P” Young won’t be a mitigating factor.
Daily Fantasy Basketball Pick #2: Similar to the Cavs/Magic game, you can take your pick of players in this game. Spencer Hawes, Ersan Ilyasova, and Jrue Holiday are all good choices.
Portland Trailblazers @ New Orleans Hornets:
The Blazers beat the Hornets at home by one point the last time they played. The tables are turned as Portland is in Charlotte, err, New Orleans, to spray the Hornets down with another dose of Black Flag insecticide. I wonder if they named that stuff after the punk band fronted by Henry Rollins.
The Vegas Over/Under Line: 192.5
Daily Fantasy Basketball Pick #1: Nicolas Batum – His wrist injury is a thing of the past, and he’ll have no problem getting past the Hornets either.
Daily Fantasy Basketball Pick #2: Greivis Vasquez – He’s coming off a lukewarm game against the Pistons on Monday, but he’s going to see Damian “Lillardangelo” Lillard in front of him the entire night. Look for Greivis to settle down and produce.
Utah Jazz @ Minnesota Timberwolves:
Can’t we just watch re-runs of Lassie or Mr. Ed instead? How about we drink a funnel of formaldehyde or super glue our nostrils together instead of watch this game? What’s that, you’re a fan? Congratulations, you have no personality.
The Vegas Over/Under Line: 193
Daily Fantasy Basketball Pick #1: Ricky Rubio – Even if the fantasy sites have caught up and bumped Rubio’s price, he’s still worth drafting. He’ll be staring down the barrel of a gun made of tin all night, Tin-sley that is. Crumple Stilts-tin, if you will. Ricky could take point blank shots from said gun to the face, and not bat one of his well-groomed eyelashes.
Daily Fantasy Basketball Pick #2: Paul Millsap – Cavs power forward Tristan Thompson just walloped the Timberwolves and Paul Millsap will too, if he wants to.
Sacramento Kings @ Dallas Mavericks:
The Mavericks recently lost a close game to the Hawks, while the Kings recently won a close game vs. the Rockets. What does this mean? Nothing! If the Kings show up to play this could be an action packed contest. If they don’t, it’s going to be painful to see. You may want to prepare a bowl of butter covered Aleve if you’re planning on watching this game.
The Vegas Over/Under Line: 209
Daily Fantasy Basketball Pick #1: Demarcus Cousins – The Mavs are notoriously weak at the C with guys like Elton Brand in the twilight of their career. DMC should dominate.
Daily Fantasy Basketball Pick #2: Isaiah Thomas – He’s on fire, NBA JAM style! If Smart doesn’t screw him, he’s a fine choice for your team. Shop smart, shop S-Mart. Keith Smart? Not so much.
Houston Rockets @ Los Angeles Clippers:
This game could stay close, or it could also be a blowout in either direction. Wait a minute, Chris Paul is back! Nevermind! This will likely be a Chris Paul vs. James Harden sausage waving fest, and I’m not talking surfing meat dogs, dudes.
The Vegas Over/Under Line: Currently Unavailable
Daily Fantasy Basketball Pick #1: Chris Paul – He’s in control like Megatron and should blast the Rockets into the outer limits.
Daily Fantasy Basketball Pick #2: James Harden – It’s hard to argue with the numbers that James Harden has been putting up. The limiting factor will be his price, as he’s likely to draw the focus of the Clippers defense and he’s more expensive than Kevin Durant on some fantasy sites. Watch out for injury news leading up to the game as Harden is questionable this evening after twisting his knee late in the game last night. Chandler Parsons is also a reasonable play given the weakness of the Clips vs. SF’s.
