Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash are dealing with various ailments, Metta World Peace has been sidelined for some time, and Pau Gasol is still working his way back into game shape after his latest injury. This all serves to highlight Dwight Howard as the last man standing, and frankly if the team is able to hold on for a playoff berth it will be a result of him carrying the load on his herculean shoulders. The Mavericks come into this game a revolving door of center options, none of which are particularly appealing when it comes to guarding the the game’s premiere big man. Dallas finds itself in the bottom third of the league against opposing centers over the past 10 games.

Al Jefferson: Jefferson took advantage of Meyers Leonard and the porous Portland front court to the tune of 24 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.
