Plays of the Night
John Wall ($7,800) – As long as Steve Nash is running the point in LA, point guards against the Lakers will continue to be a nice play. He is just too old to keep up with young bucks like Wall. On the season, LA ranks as the third worst in defensive efficiency against point guards and over the last ten games they rank the fifth worst. Mix that with the fact that John Wall is on fire, and you’ve got yourself the pick of the night.
Russel Westbrook ($9,100) – Westy is as consistent as it gets in daily fantasy basketball, and has a great matchup against the defenseless Jameer Nelson. The Magic are a terrible team, but they have been playing better recently and might be able to keep it close a bit longer than most people believe. As long as it stays reasonably close Westbrook will be able to get his.
Jeff Teague ($7,400) – Teague is someone I hate recommending, as he has burned me in the past, but the matchup is there and he seems to be playing a little harder after losing his starting job for a game last week. Teague is one of the most inconsistent players out there, but can also provide that high ceiling which isn’t always the easiest thing to find. Portland has been awful on road back to backs this year, which bodes well for the Hawks.
Tyler Hansbrough ($4,200) – Hansbrough has put up 32 and 29 FP in his last two games filling in for David West, who has already been ruled out Saturday, and has a great home matchup against the Bucks tonight. The Bucks have been terrible defending the PF the last few days with Ersan Ilyasova out, which could be the case again tonight, but either way Psycho T should produce another solid line.
Kenyon Martin ($3,600) – Martin will continue to see the bulk of the minutes at center for the Knicks, with Tyson Chandler out for around a week, and should make a nice value play for the time being. Martin has been averaging around eight points, seven rebounds and one block in his past three games filling in for Chandler.
Hamed Haddadi ($2,200) - Jermaine O’Neal went down with a calf injury in their last game, and is likely to miss tonight’s action, so I would expect to see Hadaddi starting at center for Pheonix. He’s showed he can be a very productive center in two starts last week where he went for 25 & 23 FP, and should be able to provide solid value for his price tonight. It’s not the greatest matchup in the world as Nikola Pekovic has been known to shut down opposing centers, but for a bargain price Haddadi should be fine.
