NASCAR season is just weeks away: we rank the Top 25 daily fantasy racing drivers for you.
Last year Kyle Busch finished 13th in the NASCAR Sprint Cup points standings.
While I truly dislike Kyle, I usually include him in every daily fantasy racing lineup I create. Simply put, Kyle Busch can drive and I try to put the best drivers in my lineup. Busch had a rough year last year, with four DNFs (high for him). Busch drives the #18 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing which gives Busch all of the tools to be successful and have a great year in 2013. He is definitely one of my picks for the 2013 Sprint Cup Champion, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the top five in points at the end of this year.
Overall Points: 1133, that is the amount of points Kyle Busch put up this year. This is my low estimate and I really feel like we will see Busch put up a lot more this year.
Wins: Busch only found the winner’s circle once last year, taking down the Capital City 400. With 24 career wins, Busch is a winner and I definitely expect him to win this year.
Top-10 Finishes: After 33 top-ten finishes in 2012, it surprised me to see Busch outside of the Chase. I don’t see anyway that he stays out of the Chase this year, and like I said earlier, it wouldn’t surprise me to see him in a position to win the 2013 Sprint Cup.
Laps Lead: Last year Busch led 1436 laps (yeah you read that right!), which is why I am surprised by where Kyle finished. I am also surprised that he didn’t win more last year, but like I said earlier he did have some bad luck.
Pole Position: Busch won two poles last year, and should probably replicate that this year. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him pull down a couple more poles.
Team Strength: When I think of racing teams, three teams pop into my head immediately. One of those teams is Joe Gibbs Racing, and yes, I know Gibbs is a football guy. Well Gibbs is also a big time racing guy and has the hardware to prove it. With 174 wins and all the things needed to be successful, this definitely won’t hold Busch back. It will be hard for me to keep Kyle Busch off of my daily fantasy racing team every race this year. I don’t like Kyle, but I think he is too good to keep off of anybody’s roster. With the team he has, and the driving he can do, he should see at least three wins this year. Joe Gibbs racing should transition well into the Gen X car, and it will provide Busch with great wheels. We know he can go fast on backcountry roads, so this should play into going fast legally on the track this year.
