Daily Fantasy Radio Podcast #2 featuring naapstermaan
The worst fantasy sports podcast on the web had a special guest for the entirety of this week’s show as daily fantasy sports legend Erik “naapstermaan” joined Dean “DFS_Almanac” Shavelson, Justin “BigItaly42“, and Gabriel “CrazyGabey” Harber. It was a lighthearted, entertaining journey through the theory of daily fantasy sports tournaments as naapstermaan spoke about his method of approach when preparing for and entering lineups into large contests on the fantasy sports podcast.
The DFR fantasy sports podcast kicked off with Dean and Erik explaining their personal competition for predicting “dongs” on Twitter. The two have been engaged in a season-long contest versus each other where they predict which players will take a pitch yard on any given night.
The fantasy sports podcast then transitioned back to daily fantasy sports as Erik broke down some of the keys to his success over the course of his daily fantasy sports playing career. Erik has won some of the largest tournaments ever offered in daily fantasy basketball and daily fantasy baseball, and the lessons he offered up to Gabriel are invaluable for veterans and newcomers alike.
The conversation quickly diverged off the beaten path as the group turned their attention to Breaking Bad. Dean posed a question to the party, and hilarity ensued as the discussion came full circle back to daily fantasy sports — but with a twist. Gabriel suggested creating daily fantasy Breaking Bad, and a wager was made to Erik who had just taken the plunge into watching the show.
Lastly, Gabriel asked Justin about his weekly column, Justin’s Journey, in which Justin records his thoughts and lessons learned as a yearly fantasy sports player converted to daily fantasy sports. The group shared their thoughts on some of the finer NFL points in regards to Justin’s article, and wrapped things up with an irreverent goodbye that featured a naapsterman special at the end!
