This week’s daily fantasy sports podcast takes a unique twist on an age-old debate.
Gabey and Dean open this week’s daily fantasy sports podcast with a recounting of week 5′s daily fantasy football happenings. Dean had a decent weekend, although he confesses to using the DFR Insider draft kits less than he should have. Gabey chastises him for this sinful act, noting that he nearly swept every one of his head-to-head and double-up contests by using the picks he made for the DFR Insider daily fantasy football draft kits. Dean relents, promising (sarcastically) to cross reference his picks with Gabey’s DFR Insider draft kit selections in week 6.
The duo then moves along to the hot-button issue of daily fantasy football kickers. Gabey believes they should be completely done away with, going so far as to call out the daily fantasy football sites that still use them. Referencing the article he wrote on the topic last week, he explains to Dean that one of the enormous daily fantasy football prizes may eventually change hands based on daily fantasy football kicker performance. Dean rebuffs Gabey with the contrarian viewpoint, arguing he has developed a strategy for drafting successful daily fantasy football kickers. Gabey dismisses this as conjecture, and the two agree to disagree as the move forward.
The daily fantasy sports podcast then takes a turn for cinematic, as Dean takes issue with the marketing demographics of certain movies. His point is well received by Gabey who agrees that 90′s should stay in the 90′s, and that no one says to themselves “Man, I want to watch my grandfather save the world tonight.”
Gabey then brings the daily fantasy sports podcast down an extremely divergent path with a hilarious anecdote about his neighbor’s attempts to conform his yard to their Hank Hill’esque landscaping efforts. Somehow he brings the topic (loosely) back to daily fantasy sports, and he and Dean exchange laughter before signing off.
