Last night had a host of excellent matchups from a daily fantasy basketball perspective. For only a seven game night we saw unusually high scores, with an overtime duel in Milwaukee and high octane thriller in Golden State. Perhaps the most defining game of the evening though was the Orlando Magic taking on the New Orleans Hornets. In a game which had many predicting huge fantasy stats for the Hornets top options, New Orleans fell surprisingly short with everyone but Anthony Davis a total bust, either from foul trouble or poor shooting.

Today’s Top Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks
Paul Pierce has literally and figuratively shouldered the Boston Celtics since Rajon Rondo went down, posting LeBron’esque numbers over the past month. He’s averaging 21 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists over his past three contests against the Sixers, and those games were with Rondo in the lineup. He’s priced well on StarStreet at $13,900.
Kenneth Faried is my favorite mid-range play of the evening, with his plus matchup against the Kings. Conventional wisdom says Denver should blow Sacramento out of the water, but the Kings have played inspired basketball as of late, and have been notably tougher at home. Even Vegas recognizes this fact and has the Nuggets as only a 5 point favorite. This game will likely stay close as Denver plays on the road in the second half of a back to back, and that means players like Faried, who is priced at $10,300 on StarStreet, are excellent bets to reach value.
Thaddeus Young has averaged 18 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, a block, and 2 steals in his past three meetings with Boston. The Celtics are 19th in the league against opposing power forwards over the past 10 games, and the Sixers look to be hitting stride once again after struggling mightily at times over the past month. You can snag him for $12,400 on StarStreet.
Corey Brewer hasn’t been stellar in his past two meetings with Sacramento, but what I’m really interested in here is the value pick’s minutes over his past 10 games. He’s logged under 24 minutes just once in that span, and has had a host of healthy daily fantasy basketball performances to boot. You’ll find him as a bargain tonight for only $8,400 on StarStreet.
Ty Lawson is on the road for a back to back, which is normally something that would scare me away from such a high priced salary. Against Sacramento though he’ll find little resistance, as indicated by his averages of 19 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 steals in two meetings with the Kings this season. As I talked about above, this game will likely stay close throughout, meaning Lawson should play his full complement of minutes. At $13,100 on StartStreet he’s impossible to pass up.
