Congratulations to Brian Gay for his final round performance at the Humana Challenge. Gay, luckily, found himself in first at -25 when Scott Stallings hit his ball into the water (Penalty strokes will end a lead in a heartbeat.) After Stallings misfortune; Gay, Charles Howell III, and David Lingmerth were tied at -25. This led to a playoff in which Gay outlasted Lingmerth and then CH3 to take home the trophy. With his win Gay gave us here at Daily Fantasy Radio our first value pick win for the season (hopefully we will see more) and an overall made cut record of 9-6, with our main picks going 4-2 against the cut. I am really looking forward to the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines and have been researching throughout the weekend to come up with the best picks. Course information, overall picks, and value picks will be coming tomorrow in the Whole in One Comprehensive report.
Each Monday I will present readers with the Back Nine. The Back Nine will be a short overview of one aspect of Daily Fantasy Golf strategy. This strategy aspect will be useful on every site that offers Daily Fantasy Golf and will help the “newbie” better their fantasy golf game. This week I am going to hit on the importance of course performance. One of the first things a fantasy golfer should examine is the history, build, and player history of a course. No, this doesn’t have to be comprehensive (my job), but to make informed fantasy decisions one has to understand the history of the course. A fantasy golfer has to know which professionals have performed the best at the course. Last week, guys like Phil Mickleson, John Senden, and Brandt Snedeker had previous success at the Humana courses. This week, a guy like Tiger Woods (obviously), has had a lot of success at this tournament and at Torrey Pines. By looking at these guys and the past 5-10 years of cut information a fantasy golfer can decide which guys have had the most success at the course. This is one way I make a lot of my picks; it takes a lot of time, but ultimately provides the most comprehensive value.
I noticed some new names in my fantasy leagues at Fantazzle.com last week, but we have a long way to go. Daily Fantasy Golf is a great, yet, rather unknown daily fantasy sport. The more players we get playing the more money in the pot. I don’t know about you guys, but more money for less is extremely appealing to me! If you haven’t given @Fantazzle a look yet, check it out and get in the game today! @Fantazzle has a great interface and is extremely easy to use. I’ll spot you Tiger this week and we will see who performs the best. Check back tomorrow for the Whole in One Comprehensive Report.
