Last night in Philadelphia, Thaddeus Young (23 Pts, 15 Reb, 2 Ast) had one of the best fantasy performances of the night against Sacramento. Nick Young (20 Pts, 4 Reb) made for a great value play as well.
Rudy Gay (20 Pts, 3 Reb, 1 Ast) made his debut coming off the bench in Toronto and looked solid in a surprising home win against a very good Clippers squad. All of the Clippers looked very sluggish- Blake Griffin (17 Pts, 9 Reb, 2 Ast) put in a decent stat line, but nothing close to his most recent monster performances.
Paul Pierce (14 Pts, 11 Reb, 7 Ast) led the way for the C’s against Orlando. Jeff Green (17 Pts, 4 Reb, 4 Ast) also pitched in a good performance, as the Celtics remain undefeated since Rondo went down.
Pau Gasol (22 Pts, 12 Reb, 2 Ast) and Earl Clark (13 Pts & 10 Reb) filled in for the injured Dwight Howard and both played very well as the Lakers got a win in Minnesota.
Looking forward to tonight’s games, Chicago looks to be undermanned once again, as Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah aren’t likely to play and Kirk Hinrich is listed as questionable with an elbow injury. Taj Gibson is in line for another big night.
For the Cavs, Marreese Speights has been seeing more minutes every game and continues to produce from a bench role. Kyrie Irving will be looking for a bounce back game after a very weak outing last night.
Andrew Nicholson started at PF for the Magic last night and had a double-double. The job is his for the taking with Orlando not having much depth up front, and he could be a nice spot start tonight. Jameer Nelson is questionable after leaving last night’s game with a forearm injury.
Steph Curry’s status is up in the air once again as he is listed as a game-time call for Saturday night’s game against Phoenix. If he doesn’t go, Jarret Jack will continue to start at PG.
Picks of the Night:
Greivis Vasquez – He’s been a little shaky lately, but he has a great matchup and his price isn’t too bad. Vasquez has performed better in games without ball-hog Eric Gordon, who should be out tonight since he continues to not play on back-to-backs.
Chandler Parsons – Depending on the site you play on, his price could be a little high, but I still see him filling the stat sheet tonight against the Bobcats.
Kevin Durant – Same reason as Melo, too good not to take, plain and simple.
Taj Gibson – As long as Boozer and Noah are out, keep riding Taj. He played all 48 minutes last night and if those guys are out again, he’ll be in for another long night.
Luke Babbit – Wes Matthews hurt his ankle last night and Luke Babbit was the man asked to fill the void. Victor Claver drew the start last time Wes Math was out, but I like Babbit to have more fantasy production.
E’Twaun Moore – Jameer Nelson (forearm) got hurt in last night’s game against Boston. If he sits, look for Moore to get the start and be a solid fantasy option.
