Where to Play:
FanThrowdown has a good variety of games for all levels, a really cool scoring format, and tonight they have their NHL Throwdown tournament with $200 guaranteed! Check out the daily freeroll over at DraftKings, and Draft Day also has a number of unique games you might enjoy.
Henrik Zetterberg – Zetterberg had a forgettable night. Even though the Wings scored three goals, he wasn’t in on any of them and finished with just one BS.
Jamie Benn – He finished with a power-play assist and two SOG for 3.1 FP
Tomas Plekanec (MON C) – Plekanec has had a great start to the year with eleven points in twelve games. Seven of those points have come on a power-play, and Florida has not been good at limiting goals on the power-play or at all, at any point in the game. In fact, they’ve given up the most goals per game in the league, so you should consider quite a few Hab’s for your roster today – Gionta, Bourque, Desharnais, Subban, and Markov, to name a few. Plekanec isn’t going to break your budget either ($5.2k Draftkings, $11.4k Draftday, $6.8k FanThrowdown).
Steven Stamkos (TBL C) – This one should go without saying, but leave Stamkos out of your lineup at your own risk. While there may be six games today, I’m only counting three because the other games have UNDER written all over them. According to Vegas, this Lightning game has the best odds of going over, and a lot of that has to do with Stamkos. The Capitals have been awful on defense, and Holtby has been torched by the Lightning throughout his career, and earlier this year. I’d also give a long look at St. Louis, Purcell, Lecavalier, and Sami Salo. Stamkos won’t come cheap, but he’s worth every penny. ($8.6k Draftkings, $13.8k Draftday, $9k FanThrowdown)
Eric Staal (CAR C) – Maybe he’s trying to show off for his younger brother Jordan, but Eric is simply on fire to start the season with 16 points in just 12 games. Tonight the Leafs come to town and Ben Scrivens is probably in goal, which means good things for the Canes and Staal. I think he keeps his point streak rolling tonight. ($7.1k Draftkings, $14.6k Draftday, $9k Fanthrowdown)
Carl Hagelin (NYR LW) – Hagelin is on the Rangers 2nd line with Rick Nash and Derek Stepan. He’s picked it up lately with three goals and an assist in his last two games. The Islanders aren’t a difficult matchup and there are some serious benefits to skating alongside Rick Nash. ($4.5k Draftkings, $9.8k Draftday, $4.5k FanThrowdown)
Rene Bourque (MON LW) – I’ve mentioned Bourque here before and he failed to find the scoresheet, but the opportunity here is just too great to pass up. Florida is awful on defense, and Bourque is still skating on the top line and in the top power-play. ($4k Draftkings, $4.5k Draftday, $5.9k FanThrowdown)
Justin Faulk (Car D) – Faulk is skating on the Canes top power-play unit and has three assists in his last two games. I expect the Hurricanes to stay hot in this one, and Faulk is cheap enough to help you load up at other positions. ($3.7k Draftkings, $6.9k Draftday, $5.7K FanThrowdown)
