Where to play:
DraftKings and FanThrowdown are running their daily fantasy hockey freerolls as well as their normal collection of GPP’s, HU and DU games. DraftDay has a good collection of HU and DU games to go along with some target games.
Jeff “Money” Carter - The Kings looked splendid in their throwback jerseys last night, and looked even better on the ice as they destroyed the Calgary Flames by a 6-2 score. Carter continued his hot streak, notching a goal and a SOG for 3.3 FP (DraftKings).
Phil Kessel – Kessel had a monster game for the Leafs in a very exciting game against the Penguins. He stuffed the stat sheets with 1G, 2A, 5SOG and 1BS good for 9 FP (DraftKings).
Claude Giroux (C-PHI) – I don’t normally like to recommend players that are on the back end of a B2B, but Giroux and the Flyers should come out angry after being shut out in Boston yesterday. Since yesterday’s game was an afternoon affair, and this is a night game, they do get a little extra rest and a good matchup against a Buffalo team that does not play great defense. Philly is one of the highest scoring teams in the league, and I look for them to do just that today. ($7.5k DraftKings, $13.3k DraftDay, $8.8k FanThrowdown)
Ilya Kovalchuk (LW-NJ) – Kovalchuk is a notoriously streaky player and by his standards he’s been in a mini slump as of late. However, Kovy did light the lamp twice yesterday, so this could be the start of another one of his hot streaks. ($6.8k DraftKings, $11.2k DraftDay, $7.2k FanThrowdown)
Corey Perry (RW-ANA) – Perry and the Ducks continue to play great hockey, and today they get a St. Louis team that has lots of issues between the pipes. Rookie Jake Allen will be forced to man the net for St. Louis today (who got the win yesterday despite allowing three goals to a San Jose team that struggles to score), so look for Perry and the Ducks to be a mighty pain to the Blues. ($6.8k DraftKings, $13.2k DraftDay, $9.2k FanThrowdown)
Brandon Saad (LW-CHI) – What more can we say about Saad? He continues to benefit by playing alongside Hossa and Toews. Chicago’s winning streak just ended, so they should be a more relaxed team tonight and that doesn’t bode well for the Oilers. ($2k DraftKings, $6.4k DraftDay, $4k FanThrowdown)
Drew Shore (C-FLA) – Our good friend @TheLooch mentioned Shore earlier this week. The young pivot is playing alongside the Panthers best player (Jonathan Huberdeau), so he should be good for some assists on Hubes goals, and he had exactly that in his last game. He is dirt cheap and makes for a good value play against a Montreal team that is on the back end of a B2B. ($2k DraftKings, $4.8k FanThrowdown, not on DraftDay as is a 6pm game)
Andrew Cogliano (C-ANA) – Cogliano has been playing good hockey in Anaheim, but obviously gets overshadowed by his more famous teammates. He has seven points in his last ten games, and is presented with a good matchup tonight as well. ($3.5k DraftKings, $9.55k DraftDay, $5.5k FanThrowdown)
