The Sandman’s Grab Bag: NBA Sleepers is a NBA daily fantasy strategy article finding value in guys you never would expect. An important element of NBA daily fantasy strategy is finding value, so we’ll be highlighting three sleepers every day to use in tournament play, so you can stack your lineup with studs.
These are guys off the traditional radar. As Shakespeare once said, “To sleep, perchance to dominate thy fantasy basketball league”
J.J. Barea – MIN PG – So in my 2nd article I plugged Barea and he was a disappointment, scoring just 10FP. Since then he’s had three straight games of 25, 22, and 19 fantasy points. Perhaps the takeaway is that you should keep these deep sleepers on your radar for upcoming games. Barea is still seeing between 20-25 minutes per game, while the T’Wolves remain shorthanded with only three guards. Today they face the defensively inept Bobcats, so fantasy points should be plentiful. Past sleepers Chris Johnson and Derrick Williams should also be useful today.
Bismack Biyombo – CHA C – I like to call him “BisBLOCK Biyombo”, because if he’s going to hit value and help your team, it’s most likely because he’s having a block party like he did versus Houston two games ago (7 blocks!) I know I said you should take opposing big men versus Charlotte, and that remains true, but until Nikola Pekovic returns for the T’Wolves the same remains true for them. Biyombo has seen increased minutes lately and has posted back to back quality outings. Ben Gordon gets an honorable mention as the T’Wolves have been getting burned by SG’s this year, and Gordon can get hot off the bench by draining threes.
