The Sandman’s Grab Bag: NBA Sleepers is a NBA daily fantasy strategy article finding value in guys you never would expect. An important element of NBA daily fantasy strategy is finding value, so we’ll be highlighting three sleepers every day to use in tournament play, so you can stack your lineup with studs.
These are guys off the traditional radar. As Shakespeare once said, “To sleep, perchance to dominate thy fantasy basketball league”
Devin Harris – ATL PG/SG – He’s a boom/bust pick for sure, but he’s going to see minutes as he’s simply the best option off the bench for the Hawks right now. He might even start, so keep an eye on that. What matters though is that Stevenson, Jenkins, and Pargo are not the answer. It’s not the best matchup with Shumpert back, but at his price he should be able to hit value with the minutes he’ll log. It also helps that he can run the point. On a side note, while no longer a “sleeper”, Kyle Korver is red-hot and should see a ton of minutes. He’s still coming in at a discount on some sites.
Elton Brand – PF/C – If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right? I mentioned Brand in his game against Orlando, and he did ok with 14 points and 6 rebounds. The next game he also drew the start, and performed a little better. Clearly they like him in Dallas, and as long he’s getting the minutes he should be productive. While I don’t expect him to go nuts unless his minutes are increased, he draws a super soft matchup at home versus Phoenix. If his price is still low, he’s been consistent enough to plug in so you can afford some of the higher-priced studs.
