The Sandman’s Grab Bag: NBA Sleepers is a NBA daily fantasy strategy article finding value in guys you never would expect. An important element of NBA daily fantasy strategy is finding value, so we’ll be highlighting three sleepers every day to use in tournament play, so you can stack your lineup with studs.
These are guys off the traditional radar. As Shakespeare once said, “To sleep, perchance to dominate thy fantasy basketball league”
Terrence Ross – This is a guy I’ve had my eye on all year as he has shown crazy amounts of athleticism at times, but hasn’t been given consistent enough minutes to be considered worthy in daily fantasy. His price reflects that. His game log is a very scary thing to look at and his consistency is definitely not there, but with Kyle Lowry looking to miss tonight’s home game with back issues against the Warriors, look for him to get a few extra minutes – thinking the 23-28 range – and hopefully hitting value with a chance of going big. It also doesn’t hurt that coach Dwayne Casey said today that he trusts Ross to be on the floor at the end of games because of his defensive abilities.
D.J. Augustin – Not only has Gerald Green been pretty much dropped from the Pacers rotation, he is also sick and not traveling with the team. In the last two games without him D.J. Augustin has seen an increase in minutes (20 & 30 in his last two), and has put up decent fantasy numbers. It’s by no means a lock, but all signs point to him seeing more court time, which should lead to serviceable fantasy numbers based on his current price across most sites.
