The Sandman’s Grab Bag: NBA Sleepers is a NBA daily fantasy strategy article finding value in guys you never would expect. An important element of NBA daily fantasy strategy is finding value, so we’ll be highlighting three sleepers every day to use in tournament play, so you can stack your lineup with studs.
These are guys off the traditional radar. As Shakespeare once said, “To sleep, perchance to dominate thy fantasy basketball league.”
Leandro Barbosa –I basically like all the Celtic players tonight given the loss of Rajon Rondo, not to mention the fact they face Sacramento at home. Courtney Lee, Avery Bradley and Jason Terry will all see more minutes than usual, but Barbosa’s price is too low to pass up on most sites. Barbosa should provide great energy and instant offense off the bench tonight for the C’s.
Taj Gibson – Carlos Boozer missed this morning’s shoot around (hamstring) and is a game time decision for tonight’s game. If he doesn’t go, Gibson is a great spot start and should see plenty of minutes against a Bucks team who faces the 2nd game of a back to back. Gibson has proved he’s capable of producing solid numbers when he’s given the starting role.
Earl Clark – Clark has quietly kept his starting job even after the return of Pau Gasol and continues to put up very serviceable numbers. Clark is still averaging over 32 mpg over his last 6 games, and the Lakers have actually started to put some wins together. I don’t see D’Antoni switching up the rotation now. Depending on the site you play on, his price has remained relatively low compared to the numbers he’s producing. It doesn’t hurt that he’s playing Phoenix, who ranks as the 23rd worst team against opposing PF’s in defensive efficiency during January.
