Where to Play:
Stamkos/Crosby Disclaimer: They both have favorable matchups at home, so if you can afford them then plug them in.
Eric Staal (CAR-C) – The Canes will try to avoid a fifth straight loss at home against Ondrej Pavelec and a Jets team that has been leaky defensively and usually gives up a few more goals on the road. Eric’s line mate Alexander Semin just inked a huge three-year deal as well, so he should be motivated while they both enjoy a huge night. ($6.8K DraftKings, $9.3k FanThrowdown, $11.7k DraftDay)
Thomas Vanek (BUF-LW) – We haven’t mentioned Vanek in a long time because he’s a streaky player. He scored two goals in his last game, so perhaps this is the beginning of a big tear. The Sabres take on the Lightning who are allergic to defense, and it doesn’t help that their top goaltender will likely be out again with an ankle sprain. Oh, and Vanek has a ridiculous 23 goals in 29 games against them. ($6.7K DraftKings, $12.25k DraftDay, $7.6K FanThrowdown)
Joffrey Lupul (TOR-LW) – The Leafs dropped a close one to Boston, but now they get to face the Panthers at home in a friendly matchup. Lupul has been on fire since his return from injury, with four goals and an assist in three games. ($5.9K DraftKings, $11.9k DraftDay, $7.1K FanThrowdown)
Brenden Morrow (PIT-LW) – The longtime Dallas captain will play his first game as a Penguin tonight and likely be on the 2nd line with James Neal and Dustin Jeffrey unless Malkin makes his return. While Morrow has not had an impressive year, I like him to step up in his first game as a Penguin to impress his new teammates. Sadly he’s not yet available on DraftKings. ($1.9k FanThrowdown, $5.6k DraftDay)
Jake Gardiner (TOR-D) – Finally a value defenseman, although for some reason he’s not available on DraftDay today. Regardless, Jake was recalled recently and has chipped in with two assists in four games. He’s got a lot of offensive upside, is seeing solid ice-time on the second power-play unit, and has a nice home matchup with the Panthers, what more could you want? ($2.5K DraftKings, $2.4K FanThrowdown)
Cory Conacher (TBL-C) – Conacher was a hot value pick to start the season, then he faded into obscurity. With two goals in his last three games, perhaps he’s found his legs again. Tampa Bay is at home to face the Sabres in what should be a pretty high-scoring game, as both the Sabres’ and the Lightning’s defense has been suspect all year. ($3.7K DraftKings, $5.5K FanThrowdown, $6.15k DraftDay)
