Last Week’s Whole in One Picks:
Adam Scott was our top pick last week. I truly felt like he had a shot at the win. While he didn’t come out on top, he did provide a nice showing, finishing at 6 under par and posting a t-10 finish.
Aaron Baddeley lived up to his name and was just plain BAD. His successes from the previous tournaments didn’t follow through into the Northern Trust. He missed the cut and ended up with a +6.
Sergio Garcia gave us two good rounds and two bad ones, but he still helped us win some money. He finished at -5 and ended up t-13. This is exactly where we had Sergio ranked, and he followed through.
Dustin Johnson got caught up in his girlfriend issues again this week and put in a pitiful performance. He missed the cut and needs to do something soon to turn his season around.
Keegan Bradley posted a nice round for us. He was 4 under par and t-16. He will likely carry some of his Northern Trust Success over into this week at the Accenture.
This week we move to the “Bracketology” of golf. The WGC Accenture is a match play championship. In this type of contest, golfers play head-to-head, until the final two meet for the championship. The bracket takes place at Dove Mountain (Ritz Carlton Golf Course), a Jack course that plays at a par 72. This is the week we will see the big dogs perform and play a different style of golf to take home a win.
Check out my 5 PGA picks below that will score for your daily fantasy golf team and potentially get us another win.
Last week we finished with a 3-2 record against the cut and selected the winner (Check it out here.) Our value plays did well and helped a lot of daily fantasy golf players cash. Make sure you check out the value plays and make informed decisions when it comes to filling our your PGA daily fantasy golf lineups. We are at it again this week, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see some similar names at the top of the leaderboard. This Week’s Whole in One Picks:
Tiger Woods has won this tournament three times and has won once at Dove Mountain. His “cheating years” were a little rough, but with one win already on the season and a motivated Tiger that hates to lose, it’s hard to pick against him this week.
Ian Poulter is a match play hero. He won this contest in 2010 and thoroughly impressed at the Ryder Cup last year in match play format. If Poulter can stay out of his own head, we could see him in the final four.
Keegan Bradley put together a very consistent performance at the Northern Trust last week. He also impressed during match play at the Ryder Cup and has looked pretty good early on this season. He has an advantageous bracket and could make a stride to the finals.
Rory McIlroy is one of my top-ranked golfers this week. I find it hard to pick against Rory and Tiger when they play in this head-to-head style. Rory has not started the year off like he would have liked, but this should be the week that he gets to the “Elite 8″ or even into the finals.
Justin Rose finished 5th here in 2007. He has looked very well to begin the season and I think his early 2nd should help his confidence in the head-to-head battles. He has performed well in WGC events and should use his accuracy to put together a nice bracket.
